We can confirm that Valeri Bojinov is in talks with Italian side Parma over a loan move.

MANCHESTER, England - Kolo Toure (gambar) menyertai Manchester City dengan kontrak empat tahun dari Arsenal kelmarin bagi menguatkan pertahanan dalam pasukan Liga England (EPL) yang berbelanja besar itu.

Pemain pertahanan Ivory Cost itu menyertai City dengan perpindahan bernilai 14 juta pound (RM81.59 juta) selepas tujuh tahun bersama Gunners.

City telah mencuba dan masih gagal untuk menandatangani John Terry dari Chelsea dan Joleon Lescott dari Everton.

Dengan menggunakan kekayaan milik Sheikh Mansour, pengurus City, Mark Hughes mampu untuk memperbaharui skuad dengan harapan dapat memenangi gelaran liga buat kali pertama buat kelab itu sejak tahun 1968.

"Ia bukan lagi rahsia untuk mengukuhkan pertahanan kita dan kehadiran Kolo, saya rasa kita telah mengambil seorang pemain terbaik dunia.

"Dia mempunyai pengalaman yang luas dalam Liga Perdana England dengan tujuh musim bersama Arsenal.

"Kolo menjadi tonggak utama untuk pasukan Arsenal bertahun lamanya dan saya telah lama mengimpikan untuk mendapatkan dia. Dia sangat kuat dan bijak membaca rentak perlawanan dan mampu untuk menjadi pemimpin yang berpengaruh di bilik persalinan," kata Hughes.

Toure telah bersatu semula di City bersama dengan Emmanuel Adebayor, penyerang Togo yang meninggalkan Arsenal bulan ini dan sekarang menjadi sebahagian pasukan tempur termasuk Robinho, Carlos Tevez dan Roque Santa Cruz.

Pemain tengah England, Gareth Barry juga turut dibeli dari Aston Villa.

"Saya rasakan sudah tiba masa yang sesuai untuk menghadapi cabaran baru dan saya masih berusia 28 tahun.

"Saya berada di puncak dan akan bermain bola sepak dengan baik.

"Cita-cita di sini terlalu besar dan jelas untuk dilihat. Semua orang tahu kelab ini sedang melakukan perubahan dan itu sangat-sangat penting," kata Toure.

Penghijrahan Toure dari Arsenal menunjukkan telah berakhirnya era untuk kelab itu.

Manchester City can confirm that Elano has completed his transfer to Turkish side Galatasaray.

The Brazilian joined the Blues from Shakhtar Donetsk having been signed by Sven-Goran Eriksson just before the start of the 2007/08 season. He had an immediate impact with both goals and a string of influential performances.

Elano found the going a lot tougher as opponents increasingly targeted him as one of City's main threats, but despite more limited appearances under boss Mark Hughes he still scored 18 times in a total of 80 appearances for City.

He joined the famous Istanabul club last night and everyone at Manchester City would like to thank Elano for his services and wish him the very best of luck for the future with both his new club and with Brazil.

New signing Shay Given is eager to get started after making his move to City from Newcastle United.

The 32-year-old keeper completed his transfer on Sunday evening, and this morning he will begin work as a City player after nearly 12 years on Tyneside.

It will be new surroundings at the Carrington training ground and new team-mates for experienced international, but he is relishing prospect.

Shay says, “I was so excited last night that I couldn’t sleep. It will be like being a kid at a new school at training. I want to meet the lads, get to know my new surrounds and get down to work. I was delighted to get the move tied up because of the Uefa deadline last night. I didn’t want to be sat in stand if City are going to be picking up the Uefa Cup later this season.”

Given was 21 when he moved to Newcastle, the same age that Joe Hart is now and the new signing has some supportive words for both Joe and our other young keeper, Kasper Schmeichel.

“It will be a little bit strange meeting Joe today for both of us but I am here to work hard and try and help him and Kasper improve too,” Shay tells us.
“I know I have a lot of work to do myself but I have a lot of experience that I can pass on.

“I have played in a World Cup, in the Champions League and in Cup finals. They might not be all that happy to see me but I’d like to think that we can all work together and all improve together.

“I rate Joe highly he has done fantastically well this season but he is still very young in goalkeeping terms. They say keepers don’t reach their best until their 30s so I hope to peak soon! Joe is an exciting talent for England and for City.”

Despite the experience he has behind him, Shay is convinced that City will see the best of him, as he concludes: “I feel that the best years for me are also still ahead of me and I work ever so hard in training to keep improving. That will never change.”

Law: City's 0-1-9 formation
Denis Law believes Manchester City are so well off for strikers, manager Mark Hughes could employ a 0-1-9 formation.

The former Scotland forward, who wore the colours of Manchester United and City, has been astonished at Hughes' business in the transfer market.

Emmanuel Adebayor, Carlos Tevez and Roque Santa Cruz have arrived in the summer. With Robinho and Craig Bellamy already on board, City are spoiled for choice.

"They are making an effort to compete with the top guys and it will be very interesting to see what goes on," said Law at an ESPN-promotion.

"It seems to be that they're buying a lot of forwards. It could be a 0-1-9 formation!"

City are hoping to put pressure on the top four and Law added: "They are making a determined effort to get up there.

"They realise if they can do that, they're into Europe and that's what they really want.

"I think we'll all be interested 10 weeks into the league to see how they do."
